Ghostman
Feature script written by Perry Stevens

Synopsis

Ghostman is a dark, contemporary, character driven thriller set in the East End and the City of London. The bazaar love triangle centres round the dysfunctional character of ADAM, who becomes infatuated with his half brother's (CHRIS) new girlfriend (NELIA).

CHRIS is an amoral city lawyer who deals in drugs, prostitution and a little blackmail for good measure.

NELIA is 'sold' to four of CHRIS'S client for sex. ADAM inadvertently gets his hands on a video tape of the party and embarks down a bloody path to avenge Nelia's honour and frame his brother for the grisly murders. Only when he is about to carry out his coup de grace does he find out NELIA was not only a willing participant at the party, but she initiated it.

background

By setting the story in and around the City of London, the juxtaposition between medieval churches and modern architecture parallels and even emphasizes the moral dilemmas of the characters lives.

The area is a rich, diverse and underused backdrop in film. The City, like the characters, is never what it seems or what people's perception of it is.

Ghostman's subtext is an insight to the dark underbelly of the superficial and glossy surface of capitalism on a human level. It explores the void left by the lack of spirituality and brings to bare the alienation of today's thirty-something city dweller.

We have three 'names' attached to this project and are currently seeking finance.
